Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need a lawyer?

NEVER go into a courtroom or speak with a lawyer who represents someone else without your own lawyer present.

  • What can I expect from my lawyer?

Zealous representation. I pride myself and my staff on the personal attention we give our clients. We want our clients to feel they can contact us at anytime and know that their questions and concerns will be addressed in a timely professional manner.

  • What if I already have a lawyer, can i switch?

Absolutely. If you feel like your case is not getting the attention it needs, do not hesitate. This also applies to Public Defenders that have been appointed to represent you in court.

  • How much will it cost?

It depends on the services you are needing. Some services such as wills, driver's license reinstatement, and uncontested divorces are billed at a flat “hourly rate”. Personal injury and collections are billed on a contingency, usually 33 1/3 % of what is awarded. Criminal cases, contested custody etc are billed on retainer. That means you will be charged an initial amount depending on the complexity of the case. We will take fees out of that initial payment during the course of the case for the work that we have done. If the case goes for an extended amount of time and the retainer has been used up, you will be billed for additional work that has been completed on the case.
